Twenty-five years ago, on Memorial Day Weekend, the Minden Opera House reopened its newly renovated doors as the premier arts venue in central Nebraska. Friday, May 23 join us for “Cheers to 25 Years” where we celebrate the last 25 years in this beautifully renovated space with desserts, recognitions, wine tasting, & entertainment by Joshua Routh.
Saturday, May 24, bring the kids for Family Fun Day from 11-2 pm for sidewalk chalk, games, music, food trucks, and more! Inside MOH we will be hosting an Art Fair with original works created by Nebraska-born artists, sales in our Gift Shop, and guided tours from 11-4. At 2:00 join us for Oh My Gosh It’s Josh! A circus performer, Josh can swallow swords, juggle, do magic tricks and a variety of stunts. Tickets are $7 for Adults and $3 for ages 4-14 (see the OMG Josh event below to purchase tickets). Then end the day with a fun, crazy, entertaining Murder Mystery presented by the Minden Community Players.

In addition, as we celebrate 25 years of growth and achievement, we invite our community and supporters to consider contributing to the Minden Opera House’s 25th Anniversary Fund. This special fund was established by both current and former MOH Board members, who took on the challenge of pledging support over three years to help ensure the long-term sustainability of our operations and programming. Recent discussions at the federal level have put arts funding at risk. Any reductions at the federal level are likely to affect state allocations and, in turn, impact the vital funding we receive from the Nebraska Arts Council. By making a three-year pledge to the 25th Anniversary Fund, you’ll be helping safeguard the financial future of the Minden Opera House, ensuring we can continue offering high-quality arts programming for many years to come.
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
In order to keep the Minden Opera House as a center for world-class arts events, we are asking for donations to our General Operations fund and the Minden Opera House Operations Endowment. These funds will secure the continuation of world-class programming, outstanding concerts, wonderful dance performances, and visual arts shows in the Gallery for many years to come. It will also help ensure that this beautiful space continues to be available for meetings, wedding receptions, community events and so much more. The Minden Opera House has become a vital center for the arts and community over the last 25 years. Campaign gifts are payable over 3 years. To truly make the biggest impact possible, we ask that this pledge not replace annual Membership donations. We will still need those funds to fulfill our budgeted expenses. The Minden Opera House 25th Anniversary Pledge is an initiative independent of the Annual MOH Membership Drive, Corporate Sponsorship Drive, the Minden Community Players or the Kearney County Community Foundation.
